Tropical Seahorses
Exploring the crystal blue waters of the Galapagos Islands has to be the ultimate scuba diving experience. Teeming with sea life, the bright hues of the coral reefs were unlike anything I have ever seen. I remember noticing a piece of marine trash, but then next to it I spied a tiny sea horse clinging to a small tuff of seaweed. I scrutinised the delicate intricacies of its body with its stunning yellow and brown camouflage and couldn't help feeling a connection to this small fragile creature. All I wanted to do was to observe its exquisite and flowing motions so perfectly perched on the branch. I didn’t wish to disturb it.
It was an interaction that I only experienced once in the reefs, and I still remember it to this day. Such a small delicate animal, beautiful but difficult to find.
